Dave Grohl says his upcoming series with HBO isn't just a documentary about legendary recording studios -- it's also a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the new Foo Fighters album.
The rocker confirmed that he will be hosting and directing the still-untitled series, which finds him visiting studios in eight cities all over the country. He stopped in Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC, and New York, recording one song during each visit with iconic musicians including Kiss frontman Paul Stanley, the Eagles' Joe Walsh, and others.
Grohl says both the docu-series and the Foo Fighters' new album will be out this fall to coincide with the band's 20th anniversary.
